1. I use aluminum foil

Simple and very effective trick to keep an open onion...

I wrap my cut onion pieces in aluminum foil. And off you go, to the vegetable drawer of my fridge!

The ideal is to add a small piece of butter.

I can keep half an onion like this for a week without a bad smell as soon as I open the door of my fridge.

Very practical when you cut an onion in half or in quarters for example.

Even better because more ecological than aluminum foil, use reusable plastic film.

2. I freeze

I cut my peeled onion into rings, strips or dice and place it in a plastic freezer bag.

I will be able to choose the quantities I want to decorate and flavor my dishes at my convenience.

It's a very practical trick when you want to cut the onions in advance.

So you can cut them the day before to save time and cook it the next day.

You can keep them like this in the fridge, even if you don't have a freezer.

3. I choose them in different sizes

When I go shopping, I buy onions of different sizes.

I use small or larger onions.
