1. Take a rubber band like this.

2. Pass the rubber band through one of the handles of the pan.

3. Pull it up to the wrist in the middle of the cover.

4. Take a turn with the elastic.

5. And hang it on the opposite handle.

Result

There you go, with the rubber band in place, your lid is going to stay on the pot the whole way :-)
