The recipe for old-fashioned beef stew is ideal, especially in winter when it's cold!

My grandmother had her secret recipe. And she was kind enough to pass it on to me.

I love doing it when there are many of us at the table. It delights everyone, even the biggest appetites.

Since there is no wine in it, everyone loves it!

And I appreciate being able to prepare this dish in advance to enjoy my guests.

Here is my easy and economical recipe for beef stew with potatoes and carrots . Watch:

Ingredients

For 4 people - Preparation time :15 min - Cooking time :1h30

- 750 g beef (braising beef, bourguignon or beef cheek)

- Oil and butter

- 3 onions

- 3 meat stock cubes

- 750g carrots

- 500g potatoes

- 1 small can of tomato puree

- 1/2 liter of water

- salt, pepper

- 1 C. at s. of oil

- 30 g of butter

- salt, pepper

How to

1. Cut the beef into large cubes.

2. Peel and chop the onions.

3. Peel the carrots and potatoes.

4. Cut the carrots into rounds and the potatoes into wedges.

5. In a casserole, pour the drizzle of oil and add the butter.

6. When the mixture is hot, put the meat.

7. Stir regularly to brown the pieces of meat.

8. Add the onions and simmer until browned.

9. Salt and pepper to taste.

10. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in the water and pour everything into the casserole.

11. Cook over low heat for 20 min.

12. Add carrots and tomato purée.

13. Cook for another 20 minutes.

14. Put the cut potatoes.

15. Simmer again for 50 min.

Result

There you go, your old-fashioned beef stew is ready :-)

It's easy to make and it's a very economical recipe. And it's delicious! The secret to having tender and tender meat is very slow cooking.
