Low Cost Festive Starter:My Quail Egg and Tomato Tartare!

Combining flavors, stimulating the taste buds, playing with colors… I adore.

With my quail egg and tomato tartare, not only do I treat myself, but in addition, I offer my guests a festive starter at low cost!

A tartare is just a few finely chopped raw ingredients.

Often made with fish or meat, it also comes in a multitude of recipes.

Composed of quail eggs and tomatoes, it sure wows my guests!

Ingredients for 4 people

- 4 tomatoes

- 6 quail eggs

- 3 shallots

- 1 bunch of fresh basil

- 3 tablespoons of olive oil

- Salt and pepper

How to

1. I immerse my tomatoes in a pot of boiling water for 15 seconds, then under cold water, and peel them.

2. I seed them and cut them into small dice.

3. I wash and chop my basil.

4. I peel and chop my shallots.

5. I mix my diced tomatoes, my basil, my shallots in a salad bowl.

6. I add my olive oil, salt and pepper.

7. I mix well and reserve my preparation in the refrigerator.

8. Just before serving, I arrange my tomato tartare in 6 small ramekins.

9. I break a quail egg yolk on top and place a basil leaf next to it for decoration.

My bonus tip!

For a more "chic" effect, I dress my tartare in aperitif spoons. This refined presentation will awaken your taste buds!
