Recipe:cheese fondue

A cheese fondue is quick and easy to prepare and therefore ideal for a pleasant evening with friends.

Recipe for a simple cheese fondue
You can make a cheese fondue in different ways, with different types of cheese and different additions. Below is a classic recipe with Emmentaler and Gruyère.

Ingredients
– 1 garlic clove, halved
– 250 ml dry white wine
– 300 g Emmentaler, grated
– 300 g Gruyere, grated
– ½ tablespoon potato starch or cornflour
– Optional:a pinch of nutmeg and 1 tbsp kirsch

Step-by-step plan
1. Grease your pan with garlic beforehand. This melts the cheese better and gives your fondue a subtle taste.
2. Bring the wine and lemon juice to the boil.
3. Reduce the heat, add the cheeses and keep stirring until they are melted.
4. Mix the cornflour with a tablespoon of water (or Kirsch if using). Add it to your mixture and stir until smooth.

Experiment
You can make the cheese fondue more 'exciting' by adding truffle or herbs. You can also inspire with the ingredients that you dip in the cheese. Pieces of baguette are of course always good in combination with your cheese fondue, but vegetables, potatoes, tortilla chips and pineapple are also delicious to dip in the cheese.

What do you prefer to dip in the cheese fondue?
