4 ways to store half an avocado

Do you want to save half an avocado? This is how you do it without it getting brown!

Does it always happen to you:you used half an avocado, but storing the other half normally ends in a fiasco? Nine times out of ten you can throw your saved half straight in the trash because it has become overripe – yuck. 1. Storing half an avocado with pit

Leave the pit in the half you want to keep. In addition, make sure that as little air as possible gets to the avocado by storing it in a sealed container or ziplock bag. Or go for a handy food hugger.

2. Sprinkle the avocado with lemon juice

A simple tip to make sure your ripe avocado doesn't brown as quickly:Sprinkle some lemon juice over it. Not only handy to be able to store it longer, but also delicious because of the slightly more acidic bite!

3. Keep the avocado with onion

Cut a red onion into pieces and place it in a bowl. Place the avocado half (with the pit still in it) with the skin on the onions. Put the lid on the container and keep it in the fridge. The sulfur gases of the onion slow down the oxidation process and allow you to enjoy your avocado for longer.

4. Freeze the avocado

You can:freeze an avocado. It is best to cut the avocado into cubes or slices before freezing. The taste may deteriorate slightly compared to a fresh avocado, but it's better than throwing it away, right?
