Recipe:melon-ginger smoothie

With this melon-ginger smoothie for breakfast you will wake up immediately. The spicy ginger takes care of that.

Ginger contains powerful antioxidants that help protect your body against cancer and cardiovascular disease. Ginger can also be beneficial for a bloated stomach, bowel problems and migraines.

Recipe

For 4 people, preparation time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3-4 cm fresh ginger root 
  • 500 g flesh of a cantaloupe or honeydew melon
  • 1 large carrot
  • 100 g physalis berries (goldberries)
  • 200 ml peach juice
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1-2 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 handful of ice cubes.
  • Additionally needed: blender or food processor / stick blender with high mixing cup

Preparation

  • Peel and grate the ginger.
  • Cut the melon into pieces.
  • Peel the carrot and cut into pieces. Wash the berries.
  • Put all ingredients with the ice cubes in the blender or mixing bowl.
  • Push until smooth and add ice cold water until the smoothie has the desired thickness.
  • Divide the smoothie between 4 glasses and serve immediately.
