Delicious wraps that are also low in carbohydrates!

Nowadays the children also both cook one day a week. And since Luc loves wraps, these were on his menu to make, for me they became low-carb wraps.

Not only do they cook, of course, I help them with it, but they have to do as much as possible themselves. And come up with what they want to eat, as long as it contains enough vegetables. Luc is crazy about everything that has to do with rice and pasta. But if I give him the choice, he makes wraps every week. Because he likes it so much, but also because it's so easy . You already understand… every now and then I intervene. But this time he was allowed to make wraps and for me a low-carb version.

Making low-carbohydrate wraps with fresh-chicken isn't that hard

To keep my weight in balance, I try - if possible - to eat a low-carbohydrate variant during dinner. Do the kids eat wraps, then we make low-carb wraps for me and for the rest just how it suits. Sometimes low carb, sometimes not. In this case, the kids had regular wraps and I used Powerslim low-carb wraps.

For those who do not know PowerSlim; PowerSlim is a weight loss program developed by dieticians, which consists of personal guidance from a PowerSlim coach and low-carbohydrate diet. PowerSlim has about 350 coaches in the Netherlands and 100 in Belgium. Super handy to have at home so that you can always easily make a low-carbohydrate variant for yourself if you want.

Make low-carb wraps for dinner

In the beginning I sometimes wondered whether making (low-carb) wraps is enough for dinner, but now I know… if you top them well enough, you can easily fill your stomach with this. Otherwise, just add some extra salad if you want, so you can continue to enjoy the benefits of a low-carbohydrate diet while still eating tasty and sufficient food.

Preparing for the wraps

  • pit the avocados and cut them into pieces
  • Mix salt and pepper through the avocado pieces and add some lime juice
  • Cut the peppers into pieces
  • Boil the eggs, shock them and cut them into slices
  • Half the tomatoes
  • Wash the iceberg lettuce and cut it into thin strips
  • Chop the red onion and cut the spring onion into thin rings

make (low-carb) wraps

Whether you are going to make low-carb wraps or use regular wraps, the difference in this recipe is only in the wraps to use. The siege is the same in both cases.

  • Reheat the wraps briefly in the microwave (indicated on the packaging for how long)
  • Spread the wraps with the herb cheese
  • Place 1 or 2 slices of smoked chicken breast on top of this
  • Distribute the onion, spring onion, avocado mixture, alfafa, lettuce and bell pepper over the wrap
  • Roll up the wrap and insert a skewer
  • Distribute the slices of boiled egg, the tomatoes and the coriander over the wraps so that the whole also looks nice.
  • Enjoy your meal!
