My Free Kitchen:the super "healthy and gourmet" coffee shop opens its doors

Gourmets of all kinds will be delighted:a pretty coffee shop on rue Bleue, in Paris, offers mouth-watering cakes, cookies, savory crumbles, pies and lasagna that are both "healthy" and generous. "Healthy Food for gourmands" is precisely the motto of this place with pastel colors, cozy and cocooning, where you eat organic, homemade, gluten and lactose free... but above all very varied! "My Free Kitchen" was launched 6 months ago by Carole and Philippe, two smiling, warm and full of ideas brother and sister, who are opening their doors to us today.

So, we're going home! Knock, knock?

A place for ALL foodies

Pretty carrot cakes, peanut butter cookies and plump and colorful blueberry muffins greet me as soon as I arrive. Behind, I see the luminous face of Carole, a fan of cooking for a very long time, who racks her brains behind her stoves for 3 years, to invent dishes as - or even more - gourmet than those she loved so much before she was told she was gluten intolerant in 2012.

"When I was working in England, in the art market, I saw lots of shops and restaurants with gluten-free products, where you don't feel like you're 'disabled' when you say you're is allergic (an allergy is nothing). So, after chatting with my brother (who was working in auditing at the time), it became obvious to us that we had to embark on this adventure by creating our coffee shop in Paris,” explains -her.

"What I liked about the process, I who am not intolerant to gluten, is also to offer meals and pastries cooked with flours that change (it's not just wheat! It's too bad to limit ourselves to that), with different flavors, discoveries,… Same for milk. And then here, it's healthy, natural, we don't find gluten in meat or potatoes, as we can find in industrial products (so that they have more consistency). And it is this mix of indulgence and "health" that seduces our customers", adds his brother Philippe, who has joined us in the meantime.

“Hello, you! »

Varied, amazing and delicious flavors

Do you know what Baobab juice tastes like? I didn't know this until an hour ago but now I can check this off my to do list "Taste Tests". It has a light pear flavor, it's super refreshing and it's full of vitamin C. "One of our customers loves it so much that he comes to get one every morning," laughs Philippe, telling me about the rest of the drinks menu, where you can also find fresh juices, Løv Organic tea, hot vanilla-cinnamon milk (ahem!) or even Mongozo beer.

On the yum side, the recipes change every day, even if the "best sellers" are offered more regularly - such as the famous variations of lasagna (beef, salmon, vegetarian, etc.) that we find every Thursday. Sometimes, during weekend brunches, herbs and orange blossom remind us of the Lebanese origins of these brother and sister.

And in pastry, even if it changes so often, you can be sure to often find Carrot Cakes and Banana Bread (Philippe's indulgences) and peanut butter cookies and orange blossom cheesecakes (coups de Carole's heart...in addition to anything that includes almonds, in all their forms, of course - she's a fan).

An "open" kitchen

That's what we love here. This freshness, these dishes and menus that evolve over time, proposals AND requests from customers (we can very well ask them to make us a moussaka for such a date and they will see if it is possible).

Here, we discover other flours (rice, corn, buckwheat, tapioca, potato), other milks (almond, soy, etc.), healthy dishes with or without meat. The spirit of MyFreeKitchen? More than a "free" kitchen (gluten-free, lactose-free), a "plus" kitchen. More choice, more softness, more color and more imagination. In short, we are a fan.

Why we love

The wide range of choices that can suit everyone, allergy sufferers as well as others.

The fact that we discover new flavors seems like nothing (sometimes customers only realize that it is "gluten and lactose free" at the exit).

Homemade! Moreover, every day, you can find the new menus on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The "cool" side. Very open, the two cooks welcome customer proposals and suggestions.

The delicate and varied flavors, the softness of the pastries, their crunch.

The friendliness of the cozy place, with its large tables, around which we can see ourselves eating with our loved ones or coming to work with a big cookie (and a cinnamon-vanilla milk).

The fact of being able to also have delivery via Tok Tok Tok and Take Eat Easy.

The fact that it was launched by two very nice brothers and sisters, who dared to change their lives to follow their passion. Inspiring!
