5 foods to replace butter in dishes

Eating healthy does not mean having to deprive yourself of all the little culinary pleasures... We can now enjoy (always in moderation) crusty dishes, sauces and even cakes thanks to these 5 foods that can replace butter. In addition to being less caloric, they also have a more interesting nutritional contribution. What do we like? Lactose-free, they are suitable for intolerants and vegans!

1/ The lawyer

The avocado is somewhat at the heart of all trends! Used in cosmetics, but also in dishes, it even has restaurants entirely dedicated to it. Creamy, tasty, it is also an excellent substitute for butter... Once crushed to form a homogeneous paste, it can be used to butter dishes, spread it on our toast (the famous avocado toast) or even incorporate into all our preparations. Rich in fiber and vitamins, it also contains unsaturated fatty acids (bad cholesterol reducers).

2/ Zucchini

Once mixed, the zucchini form a fairly thick paste that easily replaces butter. The advantage? Very low in calories, they are however rich in vitamins A, B, C, E and K but also in potassium, copper or calcium. We already knew the vegetable in soup, in salad, in flan and we discover it now... in cake!

3/ Almond puree

Also called "vegetable butter", almond puree (also available with cashew nuts or hazelnuts) has the same consistency as butter and goes very well with desserts! Whether white or whole, it consists only of crushed almonds, with no added sugar or oil. In addition to being less caloric and lactose-free, this dough is rich in calcium, phosphorus and vitamin E. What do we like? It is sold organic in specialized stores or in some supermarkets!

4/ Cottage cheese

Particularly used in baking, cottage cheese (or Greek yoghurt) effectively replaces butter. To reduce calories as much as possible, we prefer 0%. For those who do not digest lactose, you can prefer soy yogurts, which are just as practical!

5/ Applesauce

Already used to replace oil, applesauce is also proving to be a substitute for butter… but also for sugar! In addition to radically reducing the calories in our pastries, it brings a light fruity fragrance. And if you're not a fan of apples, you can replace it with bananas, which have the same properties!
