Hummus:9 original and very tasty recipe ideas!

Indispensable for aperitifs with friends or a barbecue afternoon, hummus is an oriental meze that makes our taste buds tingle! Composed of mashed chickpeas and tahini, we love to eat it with still warm pitas, vegetables such as baby carrots or slices of cucumber, but also spread it in a wrap or a burger. To change from the traditional chickpea hummus, we try new recipes with vegetables, for an original and ultra gourmet dish. Carrot Hummus , beets, peppers or red beans… With chickpeas, all combinations are possible!

Ingredients:

  • 200g cooked chickpeas
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 small green chilli, seeded and mashed
  • 8 cl of tahini sauce
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • A few pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Fine salt

Preparation steps:

  1. Keep aside 2 tablespoons of chickpeas for garnish.
  2. Pour the rest of the chickpeas into the blender and start blending.
  3. Pour in the mashed garlic, the chilli then a pinch of salt, the tahini sauce and the lemon juice. Mix then pour into the serving dish.
  4. Make a wave with a spoon, pour in the olive oil, sprinkle with fine salt and parsley, add the pine nuts and finish with the whole chickpeas.
  5. Enjoy with pita breads.

How to store homemade hummus?

Hummus keeps very well in the fridge, between 3 and 5 days in an airtight container.
